agdalena “Nonette” Ricasa Bustamante, born in Manila, Philippines on August 21, 1949, passed away at the age of 75 years old on January 10, 2025 in Accokeek, Maryland. She is preceded in death by her father, Marcelino Solis Ricasa, her mother, Eduarda Nellie Ymzon Ricasa, her sister, Josefina “Joy” Ricasa, her brother, Severo “Roy” Ricasa (Leticia), and her youngest son, Alan Francis Ricasa Bustamante. She is survived by her husband, Alison “Bing” Bustamante, her children: Frances “Peachy” Bustamante Raynes (Jason) and Rico Ricasa Bustamante, her siblings: Myrna Geronimo (Mel†), Marcelino “Ricky Bhoy” Ricasa (Leni), Mary Ann King (Charlie), and Jesus Edmar Ricasa (Rosalie), her grandchildren: Kylie-Michelle Raynes Fallon (Parker), Chana Monique Bustamante, Jenaya Marie Dela Cruz Bustamante, Alyssa Renee Austria Bustamante, Melina-Rose Bustamante Raynes, and Caleb-Michael Bustamante Raynes, and her great-grandson, Owen-Thomas Raynes Fallon. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from University of Santo Tomas in 1970. In September 1971, she married the love of her life, Alison Bustamante. Together, they had three beautiful children, Peachy (1972), Richie Boy (1975), and Alan (1982). She worked as a Medical Technologist at San Lazaro Hospital right after college and later, as a manager in the Motor Vehicle Division for the Country Bankers Insurance Company. In the fall of 1982, she and her family immigrated to the United States to pursue the American Dream, where they bought their first home in Accokeek, Maryland. She briefly worked at the United States Post Office until she acquired her dream job as Medical Lab Technician at Southern Maryland Hospital (now known as Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital). She retired after devotedly working there for over 30 years. Nonette exuded hospitality and generosity. She found space, value, and food for anyone who entered her home. She was the very definition of fierce and loyal, she was steadfast in her opinions, and she loved passionately and unconditionally. She loved listening to music, frequenting casinos, and eating at various restaurants with her devoted husband and family. She was an avid collector of all things beautiful and curator of antiques. However, her deepest joy was always loving and serving her family. Nonette will be terribly missed, not only by her immediate family but also by her large extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Nonette's Life Celebration on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the start of the funeral at 12 noon at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD 20745. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd., Clinton, MD 20735.
