Ray Scott Sullivan - Obituary

ay Scott Sullivan, 76, a lifetime resident of Harwood, MD, died on December 29, 2024 in Edgewater, MD. Known to family and friends as "Pigpen," he was born March 28, 1948, in Fredericksburg, VA, to the late Margaret and Roy "Peanut" Sullivan. Following Ray's graduation from Annapolis High School in 1967, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then worked as a self-employed truck driver for most of his life. Ray enjoyed watching Westerns, going to tractor pulls, talking with old friends (and making new ones), and spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Gore Sullivan; a son, Vincent Sullivan and his wife, Alicia of Owings, MD; two siblings, Preston Sullivan of Texas and Gale DiPaula of Florida; and three grandchildren, Dominic Navarro, and Liam and Elizabeth Sullivan. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ray's life on Monday, January 13, from 5 to 7 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14 at 11 am. Interment will follow the service at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville at 1 pm. Online condolences may be made by using the Memories tab on this page.
