Ver "Nellie" Cunningham - Obituary

er “Nellie” Cunningham, 89, a 36-year resident of Riva, MD and previously of NC passed away on December 27, 2024 after a 5-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Born on April 7, 1935 in Graham, NC to the late William Troy Waldroup and Neta Ethel Stewart, Nellie enjoyed her careers in life as a salesperson for Hecht Company and as a homemaker for her family. Nellie enjoyed doing yard work and gardening, cooking, and taking care of her husband and family. In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Robert Edward Cunningham, and her siblings, Philip Waldroup, Mildred Smith, Cora Clark, and Alta Pitcox. She is survived by her step-sons, John Cunningham of Edgewater, MD, Robert Cunningham of Bethany Beach, DE, and Chris Cunningham of Edgewater, MD, and her step-daughter, Theresa Lane of Bowie, MD. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:30 am at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD.
